I've been a Green Lantern fan since I was a kid. When I was in elementary school Kyle Rayner was introduced and he became my Green Lantern. As I got older and I started reading older GL comics. While I like Hal, after Rayner, Killowog and Guy Gardner (yeah I'm a Guy Gardner fan) became favorites as well. While it seems strange and convoluted at times I'm also a fan of the different Corps. So I decided to make a PL10 M&M 3E/DC Adventures character tied to the Corps, but not a Lantern (which is hard to do at PL10).
I'm still coming up with a detailed orign for Spectrum (I named him before I realized that Marvel already had a GL pastiche named Doctor Spectrum). Here's what I've got so far:
He's a young hero that has a variety of powers based on DC's emotional spectrum. I've built him with an array. Basically he can be powered by one emotion at a time. While being empowered his mood and emotional state matches the part of the spectrum he's using.
He's also an ancestor of the Legion of Substitute Heroes member, Rainbow Girl (who I didn't know about until researching ideas for this character.

Quirk - Emo: Avery's essence is tied into the emotional spectrum. He is easily caught up by the emotion tied to the power he is using.
Secret - Krona's "Child": While the other Corps suspect Avery's ties to the emotional spectrum, only Kyle Rayner and Hal Jordan know that Avery was created by Krona.
