October Horror Movie Challenge - Mulberry Street (2006)

Synopsis: The rats of New York carry a deadly virus that transforms those bitten into humanoid rat creatures. Six recently evicted tenants must fight to survive as the city is quarantined.

The Good: All of the characters in this flick are memorable, especially Clutch (played by Nick Damici). The zombie-like rat creatures were a fresh take on a classic monster. While I would have liked a happier ending, I found it quite poignant and well shot.

The Bad: This film obviously has a low budget, but it makes it work. Ultimately it's a zombie movie and if you don't like zombie movies, then you won't like this.

Final Thoughts: I normally don't care for After Dark's 8 Films to Die For, but this one was pretty cool. Like most of the movies I've watched, this film has a compelling protagonist. Are you getting sick of hearing about Nick Damici yet? He's actually a cowriter for this one.

In Your Game: If you wanted to turn this into a Cryptworld adventure you could use the troglodyte thing stats and give them an infectious bite.
