Pacesetter Horror

I think it's time I finally set down and learn the Pacesetter rules. I've got a decent little collection of books. I have Creature Feature and Vampires for the original Chill game as well as Cryptworld and Monsters Macabre for the modern spiritual incarnation. You can't tell from the picture, but I also have Rotworld in the binder with Cryptworld.

I don't know what it is about new game systems, but I'm always intimidated by them.

I know some of you have played Chill and Cryptworld. What are your thoughts?

Do you have any recommendations for a new potential Crypt Master?

  1. Love the action table system. Very easy to use, and it does everything from Fear checks to unarmed/armed combat to skill checks to paranormal abilities to ranged combat and etc. Once you grok the table and how it works, it's simple to use. Here's a quick tutorial:

Some of my favorite original Chill modules would be Isle of the Dead (a haunted amusement park); Death on Tour (80's rock meets horrific creatures); and Elvira's Evenings of Terror (8 or 9 "mini-scenarios, perfect for pick-up games). You already have Monsters Macabre (thank you!) and more Cryptworld supplements are in the works.
