Monstrous Monday - Zombie Centurion

Despite the over saturation, I still love zombies.  Some argue that they aren't that frightening, but I disagree. The idea of a desire taking over and overriding all thought and reason is horrifying. And they can't be stopped, you can't wait them out, they will get you... eventually.

Even comic books aren't immune to the hordes, as can be seen by  Marvel Zombies and its 12 billion sequels and spin-offs. For this Monstrous/Mastermind Monday I decided to take the Centurion, Freedom City's fallen Superman-like protector and give him the Marvel Zombies treatment. These zombies keep their powers and hook you with one bite (if they don't devour you).

Zombie Centurion is a true monster. I don't know that I would ever actually use him directly against the characters but I thought it would be fun to stat him out anyway. Also, if you slap on heat vision this could very easily be used as stats for zombie Superman (which is the implied first super zombie in the original Marvel Zombies storyline, though it was later revealed to be Sentry).

Well this has been fun. As I mentioned before I think I'm going to keep "Mastermind Mondays" going, though I 'm going to branch out beyond the monstrous and supernatural. If you're hear because of the bloghop, thanks for stopping by.

  1. Awesome! I love mixing my supers with horror and supernatural. BTW have you seen the new M&M book out on Supernatural Supers?

This is great and you are right this guy is a monster.

Thanks so much for participating in my bloghop!

  2. Very cool. I've never heard of that storyline. Frightening! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Yeah, I bought the pdf yesterday (and printed it out today at work). The book isn't what I was expecting. I think calling it the "Horror Handbook" would be more fitting, but it's really interesting. The Build-A-Critter section is useful even if you're not doing a supernatural game.

I was surprised to see Dracula's stats in the book. He fits with the theme of the book, but they've already released the Freedom City version (which is a PL11, instead of the Supernatural Handbook's PL14).

I really enjoyed the bloghop Tim. Seriously, thanks for hosting it.

  4. Lol! And I thought my zombie-clown was evil. This guy gives me the creeps!

  5. Just like vampires, you can't overuse the zombie, in my humble opinion. Sure, you might take a break from them for awhile, but it's always nice to visit them again. Great post. Hopping by for Monstrous Monday.

  6. Zombies scare the sweat out of me. :)

  7. So it's not bad enough to run from a zombie, it has to be a zombie with super powers?

  8. Zombies are my favorite monsters EVER! And superpowers?? Why is this not a bestseller? You must hurry up and write it!

  9. Sabrina has a point, that we can overuse ideas, and the zombie idea certainly can get old - so to speak - but this feels to me a very fresh approach. I think Erin has a point too - there could be big interest in this even beyond gaming, so maybe you could run with it in some way.

  10. You can't get a good zombie down.

  11. Zombies are super scary, because they could be the result of a plague and you just never know...I would really regret all my windows if zombies really happen. Awesome monstrous monday post. :)

  12. Zombies and vampires will endure. Every time a new zombie flick comes out I am compelled to go see it (or download it). One sleeper vampire movie you might want to check out is a comedy called "Blood on the Highway." Funny and smart...oh, and bloody. Cheers.

  13. zombie centurion, very original. i love how you put it lots of pointers on how they combat. new follower here and bloghopping! hi!
