"Evocative Environments"

There are a few games and settings that come to mind when I think about evocative environments, but I'm going to go with the first that really expanded my mind to want fantasy could be. Even before I started rolling dice, I loved reading the Planescape books my friend Chad's big brother had. Sigil is such a cool hub city and the planes are concepts made manifest. There's something about it that really stuck out. All of this was enhanced by the art of Tony DiTerlizzi. I loved the 2e Planescape stuff. I had the main boxed set and the Planeswalker's Handbook. I wish I still had them.

I've yet to take a look at the 5e version. Once I have a steady income again, I'll probably pick it up.

VIII. Strength

Strength is usually depicted as a ferocious lion being easily tamed by a tender girl, the point of the card being that the true strength comes not from fangs and claws, but rather from virtue and solid moral values. Which applies perfectly to Fall-From-Grace, a demoness succubus who took the vow of chastity and became a cleric to tame her inner beast.

Xoasitect's Delight

Created from rare collaboration between two chaotic wizards (one a member of the Xaositect, the other the Society of Sensation). This brew is created from essence of Limbo. Every time you take a drink of Xaositect's Delight it changes to a different alcohol (use the chart below)

X is for Xaositect

"Pomegranate... Lets see 'em use that against me!" - Kisuke the Xaositect's reply to a Hardhead telling him that anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law.

If you're familiar with the Planescape, then you know of the Xaositect. The planes are full of factions that
believe the understand the true meaning of the multiverse. For the Xaositects, chaos is the meaning (or the lack of meaning as the case may be). The universe is chaotic and unpredictable, but there is a beauty and comfort that can be found in that. Chaos isn't good or evil, chaos is just chaos. Unsurprisingly this group has ties to the plane of Limbo.

Occasionally denizens of the prime take up the philosphy, like Rathi, the elvish berserker and follower of Xaos.

Rathi, Elven Xaositect
"Xaositect warriors I can handle - they're as crazed as any barbarian. It's the Xaositect mages that scare me." - Prime Mage.

When most think of elves, they think of solemn and aloof guardians of nature. Rathi is most assuredly not what they picture. Once a sickly and quiet child, Rathi's life was changed one day as he drank from an enchanted stream. Unbeknownst to the young elf, the water flowed from the plane of Limbo. The water revitalized the elf's body and tainted his mind. Instead of returning home, he chose to pursue his own path and see the world (and eventually the multiverse). During his travels he's learned of the Xaositects and their beliefs. He has taken their teachings to heart (as they already align with his broken mind).

Despite his chaotic alignment and violent tendencies, Rathi isn't immediately hostile. However, those that espouse the tenants or law and order are quick to taste his blade (or best his fist).

The Lady of Pain - 4E

Planescape is my all-time favorite published fantasy setting (Green Ronin's Freeport is a close second).While messing around on tumblr earlier I found this. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I didn't make these but I wouldn't to share. If you have any familiarity with 4E and Planescape, you'll probably appreciate it to.
