Day 10 - Craziest Thing You've Seen Happen (To a Party/Character/Your Player's/Etc.)
The craziest thing I've seen happen to a character involved a 3.5 Ninja (who loved all of his gear and gadgets) and a gelatinous cube. My friend Devan was playing the ninja. We were in some underground complex (the same one that contained my favorite trap I do believe). There was a cliff that lead to a pool of water below. Devan wanted to do a cool acrobatic dive into the water (while the rest of the party wanted to climb down). He made his acrobatics check, rolled a nat 20, and dived right into a... you guessed it, gelatinous cube.
He managed to make it way from the cube but the at a high cost. The DM let him roll a saving throw for each piece of non-magical equipment (including clothing). He failed all of the 20+ saving throws... except for his 50' of silk rope.
I can't help but think of Devan's poor ninja whenever someone mentions Gelatinous cubes or oozes.
