I realize this post doesn't seem game related, but as far as inspiration and mood goes, it is. If you aren't familiar with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox I recommend you check it out. It's a fantastic Youtube channel that features anachronistic re-imaginings of popular music tracks.
