Synopsis: Nica and her mother receive a mysterious package. The contents are none other than the infamous Chucky. As people around her start dying, Nica suspects the doll is the cause of the mayhem.
The Good: Curse of Chucky gets back to the series (less) campy roots. While there are some funny moments, the flick is played more as a horror film. I really like the protagonist Nica (who is played by Fiona Dourif, daughter of Brad Dourif, the actor that portrays Charles Lee Ray/voices Chucky). The film includes the cheating spouse trope, but it also has a nice twist on it.
The Bad: None of the kills where all that original. Also, like most slasher movies, I didn't care for a majority of the characters. I get it. This makes me not feel bad when they get killed off, but still, I kind of like when I root for more than one character.
Final Thoughts: If you are a fan of the old Chucky films, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Especially with the last scenes and post-credits scene. For some reason the post-credits scene is cut from the Netflix version. That's a shame, because it's absolutely amazing if you're a fan of the series.
