#RPGaDay 2016 - Day 4

Day 4 - Most Impressive Thing Another Character Did

Like yesterday this is a hard one to answer. I've been gaming for 22 years and I've seen a lot of impressive stuff. I've decided to highlight one of my current players. Adam's new to D&D. He started playing when 5E dropped. He played through the Lost Mines of Phandelver and a few other adventures I tacked on after that.  This is his second campaign. Our other (which was level 7) went on hiatus so that I could run Curse of Strahd.

Adam is playing Adrick Balgart, a cleric of Lathander that was set-up by a vampiric lord branded a heretic. I discussed one of the most impressive things I've seen him do in this post. Essentially after a prolonged stand-still battle with a nest of vampire spawn the party retreated outside to regroup. They had slain two of the six vampires. The other four had decided to retreat to give a report of the party to Strahd. Much to my surprise, Adam looked at me and said, "I'm going to grapple one of the vampires." We rolled our opposed rolls and he overpowered the vampire. Simon, the bard, produced a stake and together they took down the bloodsucker.

It was a bold move from a rather inexperienced player and I loved it. I'm not going to underestimate him again.
