The Good: Hatchet is a solid slasher. It has the right amount of humor, gore, and breasts (notably from the actress that played Harmony on Buffy). Victor Crowley is basically Jason Vorhees and that's okay. He's even played by the most prevalent actor to portray Jason, Kane Hodder (who also plays Victor's father in the film). This movie has a few other horror icons as well, notably Robert Englund and Tony Todd. The other cast members are likable too. Ben is played by Joel David Moore (of Dodgeball and Grandma's Boy) and Dean Richmond's Marcus is the perfect buddy.
The Bad: If you don't like stupid slashers, you won't like this one. The acting isn't leaves some things to be desired, but considering the subgenre of this film, I think it's on point.
Final Thoughts: I love this flick. That's why I rewatched it and it's sequels.
In Your Game: Every game (especially Army of Darkness) needs a little Victor Crowley. Note part of the info this quicksheet is taken from information revealed in the sequels.
