Synopsis: Curt steals his father's key card so that he and his girlfriend, Julie, can sneak into a military base and watch the secret experiments going on. They witness the creation of a Trioxyn zombie. When the experiment goes wrong, Curt's father informs him that they're be relocated. Curt refused to go and leaves with Julie. Unfortunately they soon get into an accident and Julie is killed. Desperate, Curt breaks into the based and reanimates Julie. Things seem okay at first, but soon she develops pain and hunger that doesn't go away...
The Good: I love the director Brian Yuzna. He's the producer of Re-Animator and directed the sequels. This film was reminiscent of his work with Fantastic Factory. It almost feels like a Full Moon Studios flick, which is awesome in my book. I will admit that when I was a teen, I though Julie was super hot, though the broken glass stuff really freaked me out. I love Riverman too. He's just a great character.
The Bad: The story isn't super fleshed out, the acting is bad, and the effects and such are cheesy.
Final Thoughts: This isn't as good as the original Return of the Living Dead, though I'd say it's on par with the second. It's still way better than 4 and 5.
In Your Game: I've already done T-Virus zombies so I don't want to do another zombie quicksheet. This is a classic tragic love/re-animation story. You can always use the Living Dead Girl archetype from Monster Smackdown to create a (slightly) less tragic version of this in your game.
