Plane Shift: Amonkhet

Wizards has released another Magic to 5th Edition pdf with Plane Shift: Amonkhet. Like the other Plane Shift articles it includes rules and suggestions to do a 5E game set on the Egyptian-inspired Amonkhet. As far as new material is concerned we're given three backgrounds in the first chapter. Player races include human, the bird-like aven (which have two subraces), the jackal-like khenra, the ram-headed minotaur, and the serpentine naga. The next chapter features the five gods of the plane and the domains associated with them (4 of which are new). The following chapter discusses how to use classic D&D monsters in the setting and gives us three new monsters. The final short section briefly discusses the other planes and talks about planeswalkers, the planes, and running a planeswalking MTG campaign.

  1. I really like the inclusion of planeswalking here. Amazing how nonchalantly it's approached...someone overseeing something there at Wizards is taking a much looser attitude toward these rules than I would have expected them to, which is awesome!

    1. I think they're definitely being a lot looser with this Magic releases than the official 5E ones, but I'm okay with that too.
