Carrionette (S&W Light)

Here's a Swords & Wizardry Light conversion of a 2nd edition Ravenloft monster that always creeped me out. It's not a direct stat conversion. The monster stats are based on my memory of these little buggers.

Carrionette

Though they're easily mistaken for common toys, carrionettes are sinister constructs. They are driven by a single desire, to become flesh and blood.

AC 13 [6]      HD: 2    Attacks: Silver Needle (1 + Special) or Straight Razor (1d3-1)  Move: 9

Any humanoid hit by a carrionette's silver needed must succeed a saving throw or be paralyzed. If the needle isn't detached in 1d3 rounds the carrionette's spirit is transferred into the mortal's body, gaining full control.

One hour later the mortal will wake and have full control of the carrionette's body. It will function as the carrionette, with all abilities except that it can only transfer its essence back into it's original body. Should the new carrionette be destroyed, the mortal's body dies and both both souls/essences are lost.
