Synopsis: Zombies have overtaken the Earth and those that die join their ranks. The remaining humans live in a sort of feudal society centered around the luxurious tower, Fiddler's Green. It's ruled by a ruthless man who keeps the rich satisfied and protected and keeps the poor engaged in vice. When one of the scavengers for the settlement goes rogue, another must team up with a small group to save the settlement.
The Good: This movie has a pretty solid cast. Riley, Charlie, and Cholo are all pretty interesting. Kaufman is the perfect rich asshole. One of my favorite characters is Pillsbury, a soldier sent with Riley to help take down Cholo. Finally, how badass is Dead Reckoning? Seriously, that's what I want when the zombie apocalypse happens.
The Bad: I feel like Asia Argento is the weak link as far as the actor's go. She's not awful, but she's not great either. Also, why is money still a thing? Why does money have power? I get trade and barter being important, but it seems silly that paper money is still as important as it is.
Final Thoughts: I didn't really care for Diary or Survival of the Dead so in my opinion this is the last of Romero's good zombie flicks. I think it's underrated and folks don't give it the attention it deserves. I also love that Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright have cameos as zombies. Savini's cameo is pretty cool too, especially considering he's credited as Blades, which was his character from Dawn of the Dead.
In Your Game:
Sky Flowers - Most of the restless dead can be distracted by fireworks. Small fireworks will distract for 1 round. Commercial fireworks, like store bought bottle rockets, will distract for 1d4 rounds. Professional grade fireworks, such as those used in community celebrations, distract for 3d6 rounds. Boss zombies, crawlers, living dead zombies, melting zombies, runners, screamers, walkers, and zombie children are all distracted by fireworks and lose their action while the fireworks are active. However, if they are in the presence of a Leader Zombie, they make make a DC 10 roll to ignore them.
