Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)

Synopsis: The Dark Knight must contend with the return of an old flame and a vigilante that's killing off wise guys. Are the two connected?

The Good: I might be shot for saying this, but I think this might be the best Batman film. Kevin Conroy is my favorite Batman and Mark Hammill is my favorite Joker. The story is intriguing and pretty unique. It's rare that we see someone that makes Batman question his mission. Phantasm looks really cool and is voiced by Stacy Keach. Oh and the B:TAS Alfred is the greatest and has the perfect amount of sass in this movie.

The Bad: There's a plot twist that's not really hard to guess, but then again this is technically a kids movie.

Final Thoughts: I just watched the 25th anniversary screening of this movie last night and it's still phenomenal. It is also really dark for a kids movie. It includes death, blood, and the Joker even gets a tooth knocked out. That might be one of the reasons it really didn't do great in the box office when it came out. This isn't the Phantasm's only appearance in Batman lore either, which is cool.

In Your Game: I thought about statting the Phantasm out as a classed character, but decided to go the npc route instead.

Phantasm
Armor Class: 14                      Attack Damage: Scythe Hand 1d6+1, Martial Arts 1d6
Hit Dice: 7                                Special: Smoke, Stealth, Parkour
Move: 12                                   Bonus: +4 to hit, Toughness +2, +2 to damage
Attacks: 1 per round                 HDE: 6

The Phantasm suit has the ability to generate smoke. Once per combat the Phantasm can use this to move to another location within 30' unhindered by opponents. The Phantasm can attempt to hide as a part of this action. In addition, Phantasm has a +4 on all stealth and parkour related checks.
