Merry Axemas Day 5 - Santa's Slay (2005)

Synopsis: Santa isn't the bright bringer of joy we've been told he is. The son of Satan, his good deeds occurred only because he lost a bet to an angel. Now that the bet has been repaid, Santa heads to Hell Township to spread a little Yuletide fear.

The Good: This film doesn't take itself seriously at all and is better off because of it. There are some nice gags and fun kills. Being a Christmas movie, there's a nice tribute to the old Rankin/Bass holiday films. Bill Goldberg is absolutely perfect as this slasher Santa. He looks intimidating and is a funny guy. He delivers his one liners perfectly and some of his scenes had me belly laughing. Robert Culp also does a great job as Grandpa. Tiny Lister has a cameo that made laugh.

The Bad: There are some stereotypes in this one and the acting isn't always the greatest.

Final Thoughts: This is my favorite Christmas movie. I've watched it every year since it came out. If you get a chance and want a good laugh, check it out.

In Your Game: Santa would make a great villain for a Dark Places & Demogorgons game, though he's could also be a fun addition to a Vigilante City game too.

Santa is incredibly strong and resilient. He can make a tackle attack. When he does this he can move up to his full movement in a straight line and make an attack. If the attack is successful the target must make a DC 15 check or be knocked prone. Santa's powers are tied to his birthday, Christmas. He regenerates 1d6 HP a minute on this day and will come back to life, even if killed. He can also do various magic tricks tied to Christmas traditions. For example he can blow on a piece of coal to light it on fire.
