Saw Week - Saw IV (2007)

Synopsis: Officer Daniel Rigg has lost all of his close colleagues to Jigsaw and soon finds himself put into his own game. Can let go of his obsession with saving everyone, while at the same time saving his partner, Eric Matthews, the presumed dead protagonist of the second film.

The Good: Rigg is my favorite police officer in the franchise. His test was an interesting one. I also liked that in a lot of ways he was the one administering the tests, even though he was being tested. This was also the first entry to take place after the death of Jigsaw, which is a cool concept.

The Bad: I know that most lose their games, but the ending to this one was more frustrating than the others. While he was obsessive, Rigg wasn't a bad guy and was just trying to be a hero.

Final Thoughts: The best parts of this film are the scenes about John Kramer before he was Jigsaw and with his first victim. The rest is okay, but not great.

In Your Game:

The First Trap

This trap includes a chair with straps and a series of blades. The victim must press their face forward to make it through. Each round they press their face into the knives they take 1d6 damage. To continue doing so they must make a Courage Saving Throw. They must do this for 3 consecutive rounds to escape. Any failure means they jerk their head back in pain and must start over.
