October Horror Movie Challenge - Road Wars (2015)

This was a recent addition to my collection and isn't available on Tubi

A man with amnesia is shot in a desert and taken back to a camp. There he finds out that the world is a desert wasteland and blood drinking zombies rule the land at night. The amnesiac, later revealed to be named Thorn, has signs that he might be immune to the virus. He and his new allies seek out medical equipment to create a cure, new weapons, and a place to set up camp. While doing this it is revealed he has ties to wasteland raiders.

This is a Mad Max: Fury Road mockbuster from The Asylum. However, other than the desert setting and aesthetic, the flick really doesn't have much in common with that movie. Considering who made it, the effects aren't too shabby. The plot and characters are interesting enough. Honestly, my main issue with the film is the final act twist.

If you're looking for something new to watch and you're in a Mad Max mood, this isn't a bad choice. It's not great, it's not god awful, it's just mindless desert raider entertainment.

In Your Game:

The zombies of the desert wastes aren't undead. They are essentially infected with super rabies. They cannot drink water and gain sustenance from blood. They cannot abide the presence of light. There are rumors of an evolved version that are intelligent and can walk among the day light.
