Review
I really loved this movie. Dylan O'Brien has a wonderful wimpy charisma. He's just a likable guy and shows real character growth. I also appreciated that as you learned more about him, you kind of understood why he was the way he was. Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt are fantastic as Clyde and Minnow. They are a fun pair of survivors. They are sweet and funny.
The movie is far more emotional that I expected. I didn't think it would hit me the way it did. Honestly, the Mav1s scenes had me tearing up.
The monsters look amazing! If you want to see why the giant frogs in the Moathouse are scary, watch this one. Same if you want to see how horrific ankhegs and other giant insectile creatures are.
This is a fun coming of age adventure mixed with a creature flick.
