While I love my swords and sorcery fantasy, my favorite games tend to be set during the present. Vigilante City, Dark Places & Demogorgons, Mutants and Masterminds, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, and Changeling: The Dreaming are all set in the modern era. While there are issues when playing in modern settings (at least if you are a traditional hack and slasher), it's just my favorite era to play games in.
