Shroud: Ally or Enemy?

I know he's been around for a long time, but I've recently learned about this interesting character. He's a mix of Batman and the Shadow. He also looks like the Sphinx from Mystery Men.

Traits

Darkforce Manipulation: At-will Shroud can create Darkness as the spell. As long as it's within the effects range (60 ft.) he can shape it. For example he has created small circles of darkness over Captain America's eyes to prevent him from being hypnotized. 

Kiss of Kali: Shroud was blinded by a mystic ritual performed by the Cult of Kali. This gives him immunity to sight based effects and attacks. However, the ritual also granted him mystical extrasensory perception at a range of 100 feet. He can see psychic impressions, through mystical darkness, and even through objects. Treat this as the true seeing  and a Ring of X-Ray Vision., but at 100 ft.

Multiattack. Shroud makes two melee attacks. 

Bomberang: Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 60/120 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6+4) bludgeoning damage. Creatures within 5 ft must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take half damage.

Unarmed: Melee Weapon Attack. +6 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target, Hit: 6 (1d4+4)  bludgeoning damage.

Background

At age 10, Max Colleridge witnessed her parentings being gunned down in front of him. He then dedicated his life to fighting crime. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Law, he joined the mystical "Cult of Kali." The cult trained him to fight and branded him with the Kiss of Kali, which granted him mystical perception. He fought of criminals alongside heroes such as Namor and Captain America. Eventually after confronting Red Skull in space (a trip that rattled his sanity), Max found he had a connection to the Darkforce. Max decided the best way to stop villains was by posing as one and taking them down from the inside. This has led to him fighting and allying himself with both heroes and villains. He even created a villainous team, Night Shift, to fight other villains.
