Synopsis: After the mysterious disappearance of their father, two estranged brother reunite to go through his VHS rental store.Locked in the office they find a unique VHS horror game. Deciding to play it they learn that solving the mystery of their father's disappearance is tied to playing the game.
The Good: This movie was very engaging and I dug the horror Jumanji plot. One of my favourite horror ladies, Barbara Crampton plays the creepy Evelyn. There aren't a lot of blood and guts in this one, but when there are the practical effects are fantastic.
The Bad: Not really much to say. The film is a bit quirky and I guess that could turn some folks off, but I like it. The movie is pretty anachronistic.
Final Thoughts: I just read yesterday that the writer/director is working on a sequel and that Brian Yuzna will produce it. I'm pretty stoked.
In Your Game: You might be able to borrow the plot of this for a modern horror game. Actually it'd make a great campaign outline for Bloat Games recently ended Kickstarter, SURVIVE THIS!! Dark Places & Demogorgons.
