All films I'm watching for the challenge are currently (as of posting) viewable for free on via Tubi.
Sweet Tooth: After trick-or-treating, Mikey is told the story of Sweet Tooth, a kid from his neighborhood who murdered his parents and ate the candy from their stomachs. This is a solid short and Sweet Tooth is a great monster.
The Night Billy Raised Hell: Dressed as the Devil, Billy tries to trick-or-treat early and is forced into pranking his neighbor (played by Barry Bostwick). His neighbor catches him, turns out to be a demon, and teaches Billy the true meaning of trick. The short sees the neighbor and Billy cause chaos and violence. This is one of the more humorous shorts. Bostwick does an amazing job and Adrianne Curry has a nice cameo as herself.
Trick: A group of stoned friends start getting picked off by trick-or-treaters. This one is pretty sick but has a nice twist.
The Weak and the Wicked: Three bullies start to torture a teen, when another teen dressed as a demon interrupts them. He hands the lead bully a piece of paper and warms them that a demon will "spilled the blood of the wicked where the wicked have harmed the weak." In a flashback, we learn the bullies did a grave injustice to the teen in the past, who's summoned the "Demon of All Hallow's Eve" for retribution. I liked this one quite a bit.
Grim Grinning Ghost: Lynn leaves a party hosted by her mother (horror icon, Lin Shaye). She finds herself stalked by a disfigured ghost that takes they eyes of those who look at her. Honestly, this one was kind of bland for me and was my least favorite story.
Ding Dong: Jack is the submissive husband to Bobbie, a demonic red witch that craves children. He does his best to keep her from getting what she wants. This one is humorous and Bobbie is a cool looking witch, but overall this story felt like one of the weaker ones to me.
This Means War: Boris (Dana Gould) is a classic Halloween fan who's known for his elaborate traditional decorations. When his neighbor (James Duval) across the street interferes with folks coming to his house because of his loud, gorey displays, the two neighbors go to war. This is another humorous sketch and probably my favorite. I love Duval and Gould and this just fun as hell.
Friday the 31th: A Jason-esque serious killer hunts and kills a teen. A UFO beams down a small alien that is trick-r-treating. When the alien continues to ask, it is stomped by the slasher. It then animates the dead teen and the pair fight. This was an unexpected short. The alien is a really cute claymation thing. There's some great humor in this one.
The Ransom of Rusty Rex: Hand (Sam Witwer) and Dutch kidnap millionaire Jebediah Rex's (John Landis) son Rusty. Unknown to them, Rusty is actually some sort of cannibal monster creature. There are some humorous moments to this one, but it's one of the weaker segments.
Bad Seed: A genetically modified super-pumpkin goes on a killing spree. Finishing the film, this segment takes place after the events of the others and if you listen, you can find out the epilogues to some of the stories. This is a solid way to end the flick and the introduction of Clover Corp and thousands of killer pumpkins is a great way to end the anthology.
I LOVE this movie. The only thing it's got working against it is that it isn't Trick'r'Treat (which it has many similarities to).
