While I know it didn't originate in 5e, I really love the idea of advantage and disadvantage. If you aren't familiar, basically you roll 2d20 and take the higher (advantage) or lower (disadvantage) roll. It's so much simpler than adding and subtracting tons of situational modifiers. There are several games that aren't 5e that have started using it and I'm happy about that too. Bloat Games seems to be a fan because their Hack the RPG system uses it. I think my only complaint is how one source of disadvantage can cancel out four sources of advantage. Then again, the reverse is true, so I guess it balances out.
