Plot
Max is talked into the the 20 year anniversary showing of her deceased mother's movie debut, the slasher Camp Blood (playing in a double feature). When the theater catches on fire she and her friends find themselves trapped in the movie themselves! The group has to figure out how to return to reality while Max gets a second chance to see her mother (or at least a surrogate in her character Nancy).
Review
I did this for the movie challenge back in 2017. You can see my thoughts then by checking out this post. The cast of this flick are really delightful. The film critiques all parts of 80's slashers, such as the language and sexism, but it's also a loving tribute to those movies. It's weird to call a slasher movie heartfelt, but this flick really is. There are a few of that really do tag at the heart strings.
