Synopsis: Hoping to get a rich a group of strangers travel to the remote forests of West Virginia to compete in a survival reality tv show. Soon they learn that they have to fight more than mother nature when they are attacked by Three Fingers (who survived the first film) and his cannibal kin.
The Good: The film starts with an American Idol star arguing with her agent (voiced by Patton Oswalt) and then getting literally split in two by a cannibal. I can't think of a better beginning. Henry Rollins does a phenomenal job as the show's ex-marine host, Dale. He's a total badass. It was really cool to see someone that could do something actually fight back and hunt the cannibals. I liked Texas Battle's Jake too. He was a genuinely good guy, which is rare in slasher flicks. The film really surprised me with the final girl too. My pick was killed in the first half of the movie.
The Bad: The lack of Eliza Dushku saddens me.The plot and acting isn't groundbreaking, but it's not too shabby.
Final Thoughts: I was legitimately surprised by this film. Though it's a direct to dvd sequel, it was pretty good. I think its actually better than the first. The director, Joe Lynch, would later go on to direct Knights of Badassdom.
In Your Game: I've already discussed out to include the flesh-eating hillfolk in your game here. The reality tv show angle could make a nice plot for a one shot or the beginning of a campaign. You could easily replace cannibal hillbillies with werewolves or some other monster.
