Kobold Press has a new literary magic item article, this time based on The Odyssey. Previously they've done articles based on Samson Agonistes and Dante's Inferno.
Looking at the article, it looks like they are assuming Circe the Witch was a warlock. Honestly, that's a pretty safe route to go with her.
Circe's Bowl is a rare wondrous item that lets you cheaply brew magic potions and cast several spells. It can be used by a warlock with a charisma lower than 20.
The Wand of Circe is a legendary wand that makes a warlock's spell much more power (granting a +4 to spell attacks and the DC of your warlock spells). It also can transform others into animals.
Ever added a literary item to your game?
Interesting. I can't access their site at work, but I'll check it later.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, yes. I actually have used "Circe's Wand" in my own games. Along with "La Befana's Broom", "Baba Yaga's Mortar and Pestle" and "Hathor's Mirror".
ReplyDeleteI have also used the "Spear of Destiny" in my Buffy games.
All great choices, and give your love of witches, not surprising. I don't know that I've ever used any in my games. I've wanted to add Baba Yaga to my games though. Perhaps she and La Befana might make an appearance in my next campaign.
