October Horror Challenge - The Visit (2015)

Day 5's prompt was "What a Twist?!" so I decided to go with a flick from the master (?) of the twist, M. Night Shyamalan.

Plot
Two siblings go to spend the week with grandparents they've never met. While things seem great at first they soon suspect something strange is going on.

Review
M. Night Shyamalan's films are hit or miss. I feel like this is one of the hits. The film is shot in the found footage style. This is because one of the kids, Becca, is filming the trip to make a documentary. The cast do a great job. Olivia DeJonge and Ed Oxenbould are great protagonist. Deanna Dunagan and Kathryn Hahn are both charming and disturbing as Nana and Pop Pop.

There are some genuinely tense and creepy moments in this one. There's also some absolute gross stuff. The twist is totally shocking, you know early on that something is wrong with Nana and Pop Pop. However, I still didn't expect the reveal to go down like it did.

In Your Game

Rolls to resist torture and interrogation are made at Disadvantage when the aggressor uses fecal matter.
