October Horror Movie Challenge - Jack Brooks Monster Slayer (2007)

Synopsis: After witnessing the deaths of his parents and sister, Jack Brooks develops serious anger issues. His girlfriend is fed up and forces him to attend night classes to better himself and focus. Unfortunately after getting help from Jack, the professor is possessed by a demonic heart. Jack must use his anger to stop his professor.

The Good: Despite his anger issues, Jack is a likable guy. Robert Englund is a good bumbling professor. One of the things that made me fall for this movie is the practical effects. While I can appreciate good cg, practical effects always win.

The Bad: This is classic B. The acting isn't great and most of the characters are 1 dimensional.

Final Thoughts: I feel like Jack should have got a series of flicks. He's cool and I think he fits in that pantheon of blue collar horror heroes, like Ash.

In Your Game:  Jack Brooks needs to be included in an Army of Darkness game. He's obviously inspired (at least a bit), by Ash.
