X is for Xira

Every child knows not to play in the rivers and creeks of the Oh'yio region alone. Xira may be near.  Though she appears child-like, the fae creature is cold and calculating.  For reasons best left unknown, she delights in luring children into the water and drowning them. Her most cruel tactic is using her magic to lull them to sleep and then marooning them on a sand bank during low tide.

Xira

  2. Is this inspired by a real-life cryptid/legend? It's nice atmosphere either way!

    1. It isn't. Xira is just something I came up with that thoroughly creeped me out after I wrote it.
