The Witch for Swords & Wizardry White Box

If you want to add witch gaming content to your game, then the first person you should look to is Tim Brannan. His latest release is The Witch for Swords & Wizardry White Box.

The book has the complete which class (levels 1-10) for S&W White Box. This will look like Tim's other Swords & Wizardry witch books, but that's because the content of this book is 100% compatible with his previous S&W witch material. This particular version of the witch focuses on the white witch tradition. In addition the book contains the following:

  • 183 witch spells (76 of which are totally new)
  • 18 monsters
  • New treasures and magic items
The class is solid and a fun mix of divine and arcane in nature. In addition to spells they get really interesting occult powers. There spell selection is probably the most flavorful one I've seen in any D&D clone. The monsters are mainly fae and hag related, which is totally appropriate to all things witch. Finally the magic items and unique (including items like brooms and cauldrons).

If you play Swords & Wizardry White Box (or any variation of S&W), this is a book you need for your game. Tim has a wonderful way of taking legends and practices and giving them useful and fun to play game applications. Tim gave me a pdf copy, but this is one I definitely am going to pick up in print once I have a few extra gold pieces.
