Hell Comes To Frogtown (1988)

Nuclear was left most of America a desolate wasteland. Men are rare and mostly shoot blanks... if you know what I mean. Scavenger and legendary lover, Sam Hell, is kidnapped by the government because of his high sperm count. He's sent on a mission with his handler to a mutant settlement known as Frogtown to retrieve kidnapped fertile women.

Despite the outlandish premise, cheesy look, and b-movie acting (or maybe because of it) this is a really fun movie. Wrestling star Roddy Piper is great as Sam Hell. He's an asshole, but also more complex than he seems. His attitude and things kind of remind me of Ashley J. Williams. Hell he even uses a Three Stooges bit to take down a major villain. The supporting cast are all decent, except for Rory Calhoun, who's brilliant. The mutant frogs (called greeners) don't look too bad. Some are better than others. The animatronics for the boss frog is really good. If you want to have a trashy good time, check this one out.

The movie is often availble to watch for free on Tubi.
