Gaggy was the Joker's first sidekick. A little person, he was an acrobat that was later relegated to the role of clown in the circus side show. He eventually started working with the Joker as the clown price of crime's answer to Robin and court jester.

Do you think that was his real birthname? If so, it's no wonder he turned to a life of crime... to spite his cruel parents! I know it's not the point of this fascinating series of "supporting villains", but how recent was the later image of Gaggy? Is he still around in Gotham?
ReplyDeleteThe name puns in the golden age were excessive. The most recent thing I read with him in it was Three Jokers. He gets distracted and Red Hood shoots an aquarium which causes a Jokerized shark to eat him. I'm not sure it's considered main continuity. Before that he was in Gotham City Sirens back in 2009. He was trying to kill Harley for taking his job. In the end he met Baby Doll and it was implied they would date.
ReplyDeleteShows how observant I can be: I read Three Jokers and have no recollection of seeing Gaggy.
