October Horror Challenge - Demon Knight (1995)

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight is an amazing horror comedy that is rarely mentioned. Since today's prompt is "Horror Comedy" I'm going to talkin about.

Plot
Brayker is an ex-soldier that guards an ancient artifact. He is pursued by a charming demon known as the collector. This chase leads to a demonic siege at a mission turned hotel.

Review
This movie absolutely over the top! It has all the campiness and scares of the show. Billy Zane absolutely steals the show as the infernal Collector. He absolutely chews the scenery every time he's on screen and the film is all the better for it. William Sadler is great as the heroic but doomed Brayker. Jada Pinkett does a good job as his successor. The rest of the cast all great supporting characters too. Thomas Haden Church's Roach is as sleezy as his name suggests. Dick Miller is great as the alcoholic Uncle Will. Finally C.C.H. Pound is fantastic as the Mission owner, Irene. Honestly she has some of the most badass scenes and lines in the movie.

The film has a great soundtrack that was on the Billboard 200. The effects are cheesy, but there are some great practical effects, like Danny's possessed form. The film is very dark and the glowing green effects are perfect. The humor is cheap and often juvenile, but there's nothing wrong with that.
