October Horror Movie Challenge - Dracula (1931 - Todd Browning)

Synopsis: Count Dracula travels to London with his mindless slave, Renfield and takes up residence in an old castle. Soon Dracula begins terrorizing London and creating more undead. Eventually he sets his sights on Mina Harker. Her fiance' Johnathon and professor (and vampire expert) Van Helsing must stop the count's bloodlust.

The Good: Bela Legosi is the iconic Dracula for a reason. He just has such gravitas. Renfield was probably my favorite character. Of all the versions of Dracula I've seen this is the only one that had a Renfield that I truly felt sorry for.

The Bad: I enjoyed the film. Nothing stuck out as particularly bad.

Final Thoughts: There's a reason this movie is considered a classic. If you like vampires and gothic things and haven't seen this, watch it.

In Your Game: It's Dracula... I think you can figure out how to use him in your game.

  1. There is a reason why this is a classic. Though it deviates from the novel, it is pretty close to the Hamilton Deane play.

Did you see the Spanish language version yet?
