October Horror Movie Challenge - The Lazarus Effect (2015)

Synopsis: After unsanctioned experimentation, a team of scientists manage to bring an animal back to life. This violation of their grant discovered, their funding and discoveries are confiscated. However, seeing one opportunity to repeat the experiment they break into the lab and seek to reproduce the results to gain the credit they deserve. When one of the scientists is killed in an accident, the other bring her back with the research. However, the person revived is something more than she was before...

The Good: The cast is fantastic. Olivia Wilde, Donald Glover, and Evan Peters, with a cast like that you think this would be an amazing film.

The Bad: Unfortunately that's not the case. The story is so-so and feels like a rehash of 50 other movies I've seen. Watch Re-Animator instead.

Final Thoughts: As of this posting, the film is available on Netflix. However, you're probably best just avoiding it.

In Your Game: Like most movies I've watched, you could borrow the plot for a modern horror adventure.

    1. If it sounds interesting to you, I'd still watch it. The cast is great. I think I'm just too in love with Re-Animator (and had just rewatched it). The movies are totally different, but yet have similar plots.
