October Horror Movie Challenge - Office Uprising (2018)

Synopsis: A slacker working at a weapons company must battle his coworkers (who've been driven to act on their violent urges by a new energy drink) to save his best friend/love interest.

The Good: I like the actors in this one. I was also surprised by the amount of live action comic book folks: Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson), Zachary Levi (Shazam), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Gregg Henry (Grandpa Quill and Martin Proctor), and Alan Ritchson (Raphael and Hawk). Plus you have Jane Levy (Mia from the Evil Dead remake). There are some really funny moments and at times the movie has a Zombieland quality (especially when the main character gives his rules for working at the company).

The Bad: The descriptions of this flick say the people have been turned into zombies, but I don't agree with that. If anything they're like the folks from The Crazies. There's nothing that says they're undead, they've just had parts of their brains damaged, which makes them aggressive (and apparently able to leap). There are several scenes that involve them being reasoned with. This is a marketing thing, more so than an actual flaw with the movie. That being said, it's not great. It's entertaining, but probably not one I'd watch again, unless I had a friend that wanted to see it.

Final Thoughts: This movie immediately made me think of The Belko Experiment and Mayhem. The first is dark and serious and twisted. The second is a action movie with some dark comedy. This movie is a comedy with a few horror scenes.

Zolt addicts could work in any Survive This!! game. They make the most sense in Zombies! and Vigilante City, though a new soft drink introduced in your Dark Places & Demogorgons game could make them.

Zolt addicts can sometimes be reasoned with, but anything that may anger them will send them into a violent rage. During this rage they gain advantage on all attacks and those attacking them also gain advantage. In addition they ignore obstacles when moving through areas, because of their ability to leap distances.
