Update on the Halls

I don't post on here as much as I used to. Now part of that is because I'm busy with work and such, but I think another part of that is because of The Lone Bards. I love what we're doing with that, but I feel like I'm not creating enough material in general. That's why I've decided to make sure I devote more time to the blog. To help with that I've got a few themed weeks coming up. Plus I plan on doing more movie reviews with gaming content. Here are a few things I've got in mind.

I have several books to review, including Temple of the Hamster, The Ghoul Prince, and Daughters of Darkness: The Mara for Basic Era Games

Next week will be Saw week. After years of avoiding them because of my aversion to serial killer movies and my false assumption they were just gratuitous torture porn, I've watched all eight films in the series. I really enjoyed them and think they have great gaming applications.

If you have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime all of the Friday the 13th flicks are available to stream. I'm going to rewatch all of them and review them starting this Friday. I think I'm going to call it "Thank God It's Friday."

My Ash Wednesday posts have been drying up. I have the complete series for Ash vs Evil Dead. My plan is to watch the entire series, just doing one episode a week. I'll review each episode for Ash Wednesday and create some gaming material.

I'm also watching the new Child's Play movie tomorrow night so expect a review Saturday.

  1. Sounds like a very industrious plan. Good luck.

Can't wait to hear your opinions on all these franchises (you know I love a good horror franchise - I can also recommend the Wrong Turn series for ideas) and see what gaming gems you can dredge out of them.

I also think you should be promoting your own material (and that of The Lone Bards in general) more aggressively here. You have this free advertising space and a captive audience, so make use of it!
