October Horror Movie Challenge - Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015)

All films I'm watching for the challenge are currently (as of posting) viewable for free on via Tubi.

A janitor at a laboratory accident releases the zombie plague on a small town and a group of scouts are the only ones that can save the day. Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, and Joey Morgan are entertaining as the titular scouts. Each of them fits a classic friend role. Sarah Dumont is also great as the sexy strip club cocktail waitress they team up with. As far as laughs go, this isn't a high brow flick. Most of the humor is sex related and is aimed at teen boys. There are a few comedy cameos, including Cloris Leachmen as a bitchy older neighbor. David Koechner is a reoccurring source of human as the group's scout master (who's also obsessed with Dolly Parton). Finally Black Anderson (of Workaholics steals the show at the beginning of the film as the bumbling janitor. 

There are better zombedies out there. The movie is definitely no Shaun of the Dead. It's a good, shallow, friendship- yay! kind of flick though. I dug it.

In Your Game:  Ben, Carter, and Augie would definitely survive an outbreak in Surive This!! - Zombies!. They are overpowered survivors (because they're master scouts), but that's to keep them in line with the cinematic nature of the movie.
