October Horror Movie Challenge - Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)

My dad and I went the cinema to watch this zombedy Sunday.

Ten years after the zombie apocalypse our heroes from the first film have settled down in the White House. However, tensions and anxieties flare, which leads to a road trip from DC to Memphis, TN.

My pops and I absolutely loved this one. While there is nothing groundbreaking about it, it's just a logical story progression from the first (and tickles in all the same ways). The characters have grown and become complacent. The events of the film give them a chance to grow.

As with the first Zombieland, the comedy of this one is just on point. I laughed the entire damn movie. There were numerous good gags and scenes and Eisenberg and Harrelson are perfect together. I also really loved the introduction of the new survivors, particularly Nevada, Albuquerque, and Flagstaff.

While the final conflict of the film seemed a bit rushed (and the logic isn't the best), it worked and the film has a great ending. I really don't see another Zombieland coming out in ten years. Honestly, this one tied things up nicely. The final scenes were heartwarming.
