The Tale of Timmy Baterman (2019)

The Tale of Timmy Baterman is a short film that was shot concurrently and acts as a prequel to 2019's Pet Sematary. It was written by Jeff Bhuler and Stephen King and stars John Lithgow as Jud Crandall. The short, which is only 3 minutes, features Jud recounting the tale of Timmy Baterman with scenes of the semetary and a resurrected Timmy walking.

While Lithgow isn't involved, this story is being turned into a feature length film coming to Paramount+ in October called Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.

In 1969, a young Jud Crandall dreams of escaping his hometown, until he discovers the malevolent secrets of what is buried in a cemetery. He confronts a haunting family legacy that forever connects him to the place and unites with his childhood friends as they face an ancient evil that has plagued Ludlow from its inception.

The film will start Jackson White (son of actress Katey Sagal) as a Jud. The film also features Pam Grier, David Duchovny, and Henry Thomas. It's a prequel we didn't need, but I'm definitely looking forward to checking it out.
