The Brawler For OSE

Okay, here's my first attempt at creating a golden age class for OSE. This is my take on Jonathan's Brawler class. Consider this a playtest version of the class.

Brawler

Requirements: Minimum STR 12
Prime requisite: STR
Hit Dice: 1d8
Armour: Any, including shields
Weapons: Any
Languages: Native tongue

Brawlers are often frontline soldiers in the caped and costumed war on all that plagues the city and the world around it. Their methods are quite simple: see criminal, punch criminal. That’s not say they are simply musclebound pugilists (though some are), it’s just that when the heat is on and the safety of the city is in their hands, they can always rely on their own strength and prowess rather than fancy weapons and gadgets.

Brawling:
A brawler’s unarmed strikes do 1d3 damage modified by STR. This damage increases to 1d6 at 4th-level, 1d8 at 7th level, and 1d10 at 10th-level.

Sorry About The Furniture:
Once per day, a brawler can use an object near them to whack a criminal. This attack is not subject to the brawler’s normal to-hit penalties and the brawler gains a +1 to attack and damage rolls with the item.

It’s Kinda My Thing:
The brawler may choose one gadget or small weapon as their signature weapon. Common choices include batons, boomerangs, or smoke grenades. If the item is a weapon, it ignores the Brawler’s normal to-hit penalties and does damage equal to the Brawler’s unarmed strikes. Brawlers receive a +1 to-hit and damage when using their signature weapon.

If the item is a gadget, it may only be used once per day. Common gadgets include sleep grenade (acts as Sleep spell with effective range 30’), gas pellets (obscure 30’ radius, treat as Darkness), or blinding grenade (treat as blinding a creature with Light with effective range 30’)

Combat:
Brawlers can use all types of weapons. However, they get a -3 penalty to tack when melee weapons and a -5 when using ranged weapons. They tend to wear armored costumes (treat as Leather).

After Reaching 8th-Level:

At 8th-level, the brawler can select a sidekick to train in the art of brawling. The sidekick becomes a 1st level brawler and serves their mentor faithfully. If the sidekick is killed, the brawler must wait until they advance another level to take on another protégé.

I like it, but I haven't taken it for a spin yet. I think next I'll try to update the Elemental or Amazon.
