October Horror Movie Challenge - Children of the Corn: Runaway (2018)

Synopsis: A pregnant young woman escapes a child cult in a small town and spends years living anomalously on the road. Eventually she settles in a new town, but soon find that something evil is following her.

The Good: The plot is a solid and compelling one. Marci Miller and Jake Ryan Scott have a convincing chemistry as the wayward mother-son duo. Some of the deaths are pretty entertaining despite the lack of budget. Also, the overall cinematography is theater worthy,

The Bad: There are some great ideas here, but ultimately the film feels lacking. The script is ultimately shallow and most of the deaths seem incidental.

Final Thoughts: This isn't the worst Children of the Corn sequel, but that doesn't make it good. It's a real shame though, because this one had a lot of potential.
