Synopsis

It's been two weeks since the night of interrupted Chupacabra love making. The cast had decided to not meet up for a bit, making sure they are not being followed. Given the way the authorities handled the incident, they believe there is a conspiracy afoot. When they finally decide to reconvene (at the Pope Lick Trestle), they are joined by their friend Summer (who wasn't present during the incident because she was competing). No one discovered anything new about the monsters, but Cassandra overheard an odd incident. It seems that a classmate, Mathew Anderson, attempted to go cow tipping and has not been the same since.

The group go to Jamal's house to pick him up (he has been attending physical therapy for the injuries his hand suffered because of the "bear attack".) Next they head to Mathew's house. Jamal enters under the pretense of delivering homework and finds Mathew shaken in his room. To get the young man to talk, he mentions his encounters with the supernatural. Mathew isn't the most talkative, but he does mention the thing had "large leathery wings."
Summer and the stampeding horses
went down something like this.

They head to the Brown's farm, site of the incident. While heading there, they catch the interest of a young man named RJ, who's watching the parameter of his family's compound. He decides to follow them.

Summer and her family have had dealings with the Brown's before and she asked if they could look around (explaining she'd heard there were folks creeping around). Being the sweet and innocent girl she was, Farmer Brown agrees to let them look around.

The group search the barn and pasture and discover some of the cows are sluggish. While this was happening, RJ follows and observes. He also looks for useful things to take from the barn for his family. When Summer notices something spooking the horses in the barn, RJ spurs them forward into the pasture. Summer is able to calm them with a few gestures and words, amazing her friends.

Cassandra and Elliot pursue the unknown figure, while Jamal and Summer investigate the cows more. Cassandra offers the stranger a beer and while he takes a moment to look back at her, he flees (or at least appears to). The group speaks with Farmer Brown about the stranger and Summer's feat. Grateful he gives them a fresh baked apple pie.

The friends decide to stay at the barn and wait for whatever was coming, but Jamal wants to analyze the blood first to see if he could discover anything. He and Summer decide to ride her horse to the school. Even though it's Saturday, Jamal has a key. Cassandra and Elliot decide to drive (though they soon discover their new "friend" has slashed a tire). Kit decides to sit in the bar and eat pie.

At the school Jamal figures out that the cows have low platelet levels and are anemic. After talking with resident goth occultist Cassandra, they guess they might be dealing with a vampire. The group returns to the farm and prep. They discuss their findings with Kit. Cassandra grabs the wooden stakes she made before facing the Chupacabra, Kit and Summer grab their bows, Elliot grabd an oil lamp from the barn, and Jamal grabd a pitch fork.

While this was happening, RJ breaks into the Brown house. He stealthily makes it into the den, but while heading up stairs, bumps into a table and makes noise. Fearing getting caught, he enters a sewing room, grabs some needles (because he doesn't want to leave empty handed), and heads out the window onto the front of the porch.

Meanwhile inside the barn, the group hears a gust of air, followed by a loud thud, and hoof prints on the roof. They hide as best they can, until they hear the thing move and finally see the creature... the Hellcow!!!

It's large leathery bat wings, transform into a Dracula-style cape. The creature let out a maniacal laugh, "Mooooo-hahahaha!!!!" The horrid sound echoes in the teens' ears. Startled by the encounter, Jamal screams like a child and Cassandra hides.

Seeing the monster, RJ climbs off the porch roof and runs to his ATV, which is hidden by a nearby bale of hay. Unfortunately the creature sees him and flies quickly to intercept. Summer lets loose an arrow and hits the beast. Elliot and Kit rush the Hellcow, Kit going high and slamming into it the Elliot going under and pulling the cape. Somehow the coordinated effort managed to tip the vampiric bovine! It tries to bite RJ, but misses. He takes this opportunity to back his ATV into it. Jamal charges it with the pitchfork and slams into it, while summer looses another arrow. Regaining her composure, Cassandra snapps a picture of the fiend. This is followed by a flaming arrow prepared by Elliot (using oil from the lamp) and fired by Kit. It hits its mark and the cow moos furiously.  RJ slamms a jar of his parents' adult water (moonshine) onto the beast, increasing the blaze (and causing the flames to lick those surrounding it). He then speeds away like a madman. The beast kips up onto it's hind legs and tries to pummel Kit, but unfortunately can't land a single blow. Still in the barn, Cassandra gathers her strength and rushes the beast with a homemade wooden stake.

"Moo?!" the Hellcow says in shock as the stake pierces its heart. Time seems to stop as grim reapers appear and grab the bovine, pulling it apart. Before the creature is ripped limb from limb in a bloody spray, they all disappear, leaving only only the beast's cape (which Jamal quickly claims).

Triumphant, but still in shock the group decides to camp out in the barn and party (with some Milwaukee's Best and some of the devil's lettuce). Sadly, Cassandra finds out her picture just shows a floating cape. While wandering around the barn, Elliot stumbles upon an old, slightly rusted box. Inside it is a well used, but seemingly functional pistol and ammo...

----------
While not a lot went down this session, it was a lot of fun. Elliot and Kit leveled up and everyone else should be able to next session with what I've got planned. That's why Elliot found a gun, btw (the hood gets one at 2nd level).  It's rough working in a new character that isn't trusting, but we're getting there. Also, roleplaying Hellcow was a blast! I've never had more fun doing a villain's evil laugh. You can find stats for Bessie the Hellcow here. Also, entire fight scene I was thinking about this scene:
