One-Punch Hulk

I don't think Saitama and Hulk needed to be combined, but this piece from Axel Medellin is fun.

Fuccubus Friday

I don't know who this character is, but she seems like a good subject for a Fuccubus Friday post. This is also different from the Superman art I've been sharing by artist Yashiro Manabu.

Music Monday - The Revo

This past weekend we were treated with an epilogue episode for My Hero Academia.

The intro song, The Revo from PORNOGRAFFITTI, was used in the last season. This video (which I’m pretty sure was also in the last episode) hits the major beats of the entire series and made me a little emotional.

I've previously shared some Justice Gang artwork by manga artist, Yashiro Manabu, herehere, and here. Today I found a few more I wanted to share.

I Am Gotham's Reckoning

I probably shouldn't be into the femme Bane piece by manga artist, Yashiro Manabu, as much as I am, but damn do I love a muscle mommy.

Nappa vs Homelander

Power scaling can be fun, though it’s also one of those subjects I normally don’t care about. If you ask me who will win in a fight, ABC or XYZ, I’ll say depends on who’s writing the story.

I love Dragon Ball and all of its off-shoots and I think Homelander is a tool. That’s why I love that, based on their respective power levels, early DBZ big bad Nappa (whose power level is quickly surpassed by just about everyone) would decimate Vought’s golden child. And remember if you want to add Homelander into your DCC game I have stats for him here.

This short animation illustrates how the fight would go.

Music Monday - Catch!!!

Yesterday I finished watching Season 2 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. I really enjoyed it. It hit all of the major points from the manga. This season featured even more heroes from the main series, and included a three episode arc focused on Aizawa.

The theme, Catch!!!, is great so I decided it would be a great Music Monday post. That being said I do have to admit that I still like Season 1's theme, Kekka Orai, better.

Here's an English cover by Silver Storm.

The Real Hero Of One-Punch Man

While there are many stronger heroes in the One-Punch Man universe, in my eyes the real hero of the show is Mumen Rider. He might be naïve, but he truly believes in heroes. Though he was thoroughly trounced and obviously outmatched by Sea King, he stood up to him to protect civilians. His determination and sense of justice has made him a reoccurring ally and friend of Saitama.

Mumen Rider: Init +2; Atk +3 unarmed (1d6); Crit III/1d14; AC 14; HD 4d6; HP 14; Act 1d20; SQ +5 to bicycling, immune to fear; SV Ref +4; For +2, Will +4; AL L

The Strongest Man On Earth

This may sound weird, but I have a lot more fun statting out oddball and joke characters than traditional ones. Being a parody of action anime and superhero comics, One-Punch Man has several. My favorite is probably "the strongest man on Earth," King.

King is a high ranking hero with a powerful reputation. His "King Engine," a fearsome intimidating sound that fills the battlefield when King is near, is feared by all. It's all an act though. King is actually a cowardly geek that's just extremely lucky. The King Engine is the sound of his heartbeat. Despite this, he's a good man and cares for his friends.

Technically King’s real power is plot armor, but that’s not fun. To represent his luck, I'm giving King the thief's Luck and Wits ability. He also bolsters allies with his presence, so he should have the halfling Good Luck Charm trait. As far as the King Engine, I just figure it would be a a powerful fear effect for living creatures that hear it.

I updated the stats because I forgot to include King’s top tier video gam skills.

King: Init +4; Atk +2 punch (1d3); Crit II/1d14;  AC 12 (dex); HD 3d6; HP 12; Mov. 30'; Act 1d20; SP ; SV:  18 luck, good luck charm, luck and wits (3rd level), luck die +d3, +10 to video games; SV Ref +4; Fort +1, Will +1; AL L

The King Engine: All intelligent, hostile, living enemies that hear the King Engine must make a will saving throw (DC 20) to resist the effects of the King Engine. Failure indicates it experiences a moment of fright. It immediately flees the area at maximum speed. This fear lasts until it can't hear the King Engine any longer.

One Puuuuuuuuunch!

I recently started rewatching One Punch Man. If you’re a comic book fan I recommend the series (or at least the first season). Check out this great art piece by Marcelo Ventura Art. Also check out my Two Punch Man stats.

Kaiju Smackdown

I don't do a lot of anime recommendations, but if you are looking for one with great action and heart, you should definitely check out Kaiju No. 8. Check out this awesome Kafka vs Godzilla promo art released before season 2. It was created by Japanese director, Mahiro Maeda.

Marvel Hero Academia

While I love One-Punch Man, My Hero Academia is my favorite Japanese take on superhero comics. I recently found these Marvel/MHA crossovers.

The first piece was created by MHA creator Kohei Horikoshi.

Here’s a crossover art piece by Marvel artists Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgado. I love Black Cat, but there’s no way he’s getting away from those heroines.

This one isn’t a crossover piece, but it is an MHA illustration by regular Marvel artist Dan Hipp.

Two Puuuuuuuuunch!!!!!

While the Invincible comic series features appearances from many Image heroes, due to licensing issues, the animated version has had to create new ones. One such hero is Two Punch Man. Not much is known about the character, but it's obvious he's an homage/parody of Saitama, the protagonist of One-Punch Man. His first appearance was at the funeral for the Guardians of the Globe. He is apparently as strong as Saitama and he can fly. He seemed to be taken out pretty easily, so he isn't the most durable. To use his power he must land a second punch on his foes. This is shown to take out a magma creature that gave Invincible trouble. Unfortunately for Two Punch Man, he's often knocked out before he can land the second blow.

Two Punch Man: Init +2; Atk +5 punch (1d4); Crit V/1d20; AC 14; HD 3d8; HP 15; Mov. 30', fly 50'; Act 1d20; SP two punch; SV Ref +2; Fort +3; Will +2; Path L

Two punch: Two Punch Man can unleash his devastating power on an opponent he punches a second time in combat. Instead of 1d4 damage, this punch deals 12d12 damage. Two Punch Man can hold back his power and make the punch nonlethal. If this option is taken, instead of killing the opponent, it reduces them to 1 HP and they fall unconscious.

Also if you're curious about the blog's title, its a reference to the infectious theme for the first season of One-Punch Man.

My Adventures With Goku

This Ricardo Lopez Ortiz cover for My Adventures with Superman is a great tribute to Akira Toriyama’s classic Dragon Ball art. Considering Superman was an inspection for Goku it’s cool to see things come full circle.

Music Monday - Gunning For Me

This My Hero Academia inspired track is great.

The final season starts October 10th. This won’t be the last bit of animated MHA we get though since the spin-off, Vigilantes, has a new season in the works.
