Music Monday - Play Dead

This post combines two of my loves, Ice Nine Kills and Dead By Daylight. I've posted about the band and video game before (including posting SURVIVE THIS!! stats for the killer known as Trickster). Play Dead is an INK track released for Dead By Daylight's 10th anniversary. I'd actually stopped playing the game for a while, but the include of Jason Voorhees into the game brought me back. Finding out there was an INK and DBD just sealed the (infernal) deal.

The track is good and the video is a fantastic tribute to the game (including the killers, Nurse and (one of my favorites) Legion). All of the band members are dressed up in the outfits of the game's survivors and Spencer (the lead singer) is dressed as my fav survivor, Dwight.

The video has some fun cameos and continues the ongoing INK music video story. Also, going to be real, I love the Insane Clown Posse reference in the video.

Never Punch Down. Always Punch Up.

Here's the next member of Dispatch's Z-Team I'm giving the DCC treatment, Punch Up.

Colm, otherwise known as Punch Up, was a circus strong man who madea deal with a sorceress. She gave him the strength of 10 men, but have the height of one. He knew he would be regulated to the freak show because of his stature so he became an alcoholic and and became a fighter. He eventually turned to crime. At some point he ticked off the wrong criminal, leading to the assassin Coupe' being sent to kill him. The two fought but their fighting soon turned to sex. They dated for a bit before joining SDN's Phoenix Program.

Punch Up: Init +3; Atk +6 punch (2d4+6); Crit V/1d14; AC 12; HD 6d12+24; HP 54; Mov. 20'; Act 1d20+1d14; SP feels no pain, regeneration, signature move; SV Ref +4; Fort +8; Will +3; AL N

Signature move: Also known as the Nut Cracker and Ball Buster, Punch Up's signature move is punching opponents in the genitals. On a Critical Hit against a target with genitals, instead of rolling on the table he can choose to do his signature move. The attack does 2d8+6 damage and the target falls to the ground and rolls around in agony for the next 1d4 turns.
Regeneration: Punch Up regains 1d2 hit points at the beginning of each of his turns.

Now That's Some High Quality H2O

So far Dispatch is my fav game of the year (and not just because of Melevola). I just started my third play through Saturday. I think I'm going to start statting the cast. Instead of the choice you think I'd make, I'm going with a goofy character.

Waterboy is starts at SDN the same day as protagonist, Robert. He starts as a janitor, but can be recruited to your team. He's comic relief and his power is getting very moist (his words, not mine).

Waterboy: Init +2; Atk +3 punch (1d4) or water jet (DC 14 Ref save or target falls down); Crit I/1d4; AC 12; HD 3d6; HP 12; Mov. 30'; Act 1d20; SP water spit, holy spit; SV Ref +2; Fort +1; Will +2; AL L

Holy spit: Possibly because of his bond with Melevola, Waterboy can imbue his spit with divine energy.
He makes a power check (1d20+5).
  • 1: Waterboy strains his throat and can't use his water powers until he rests for at least an hour.
  • 2-11:  The water expelled is just water.
  • 12-13: Living creatures hit by this water are healed 1d2 HP, while undead and demons take 1d2 damage.
  • 14-17: Living creatures hit by this water are healed 1d4 HP, while undead and demons take 1d4 damage.
  • 18-19: Living creatures hit by this water are healed 1d6 HP, while undead and demons take 1d6 damage.
  • 20+: Living creatures hit by this water are healed 1d8 HP, while undead and demons take 1d8 damage.

Invincible Vs

This week an Invincible fighting game dropped. Created by a lot of the folks that made 2013's Killer Instinct reboot, the game is full of blood, guts, and crazy combos. It also features a story mode that feels like a lost episode from the series. Check out the story trailers below.

Also remember if you want to add some Invincible goodness to your DCC supers games, I've got your hook up.

D&D Dungeon Masters Campaign 1

D&D Dungeon Masters is a new live play series by WoTC. You can learn more by visiting the official site. All of the characters for campaign one are created using new options from the next D&D book, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. Like most official live plays, the players are all actors and voice actors. Two notable players this time are Neil Newbon (Astarion) and Devora Wilde (Lae'zel). The first two episodes were uploaded in one video which you can watch below.

I want to start by saying I really enjoy this format. I'm not going to sit down every week and listen to Critical Role for hours, but I can definitely commit an hour and 10 minutes or so each week for this one. The players are all fun and despite the brevity of it all, have presented some great characters with  a great amount of intrigue. Also I'm always down for new Ravenloft.

Each week will also see a "Play-Along Pack." Each pack will include an encounter based on that week's episode and preview a new monster from Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. The first Play-Along Pack is free, but to get the others you need to pre-order the book on D&D Beyond.

Overworld - The Tabletop Roleplaying Game

The madmen at Bloat Games. are back at it. Their new project is Overworld RPG. This game expands previous releases and fleshes them out into a full game. I’ve loved their series of video game monster books. This takes the SURVIVE THIS!!  stats, adds appropriate classes, and all you need for a complete game. There will also be a separate world/setting book.

This project makes me think of Captain N the Gamemaster  and Super Smash Bros. Also since it uses SURVIVE THIS!! rules there is great crossover potential with games like Dark Places & Demogorgons. What happens when your J-Town crew get sucked into their Nintendo? Overworld RPG gives you the tools to find out.

There are only a few days left for the Kickstarter, so don’t delay.

Fuccubus Friday - Autumn Ivy as Malevola

I’ve shared my love for Autumn Ivy many times. Here’s a recent cosplay she did of Dispatch’s resident half-demon, Malevola.

Fuccubus Friday - Malevola

Malevola is a half demon supporting character in the video game Dispatch. Like other members of Z-Team, she's a reformed villain working with the Superhero Dispatch Agency. With her devilish connections, sword, and teleporting ability, she's very reminiscent of Marvel's Magik. Developers said physically she was based on fitness influencer, LeanBeefPatty who actually cosplayed her after learning that. You can see that cosplay here. Personally, I see her as a white trash Karlach, which probably explains why I love her so much.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commandos

While looking for the Toxic Crusaders beat’s  up (which I feel is never coming out), I discovered John Carpenter’s Toxic Commandos. It’s a co-op fist person shooter with Carpenter’s signature horror and humor. In the game you take on hordes of zombies unleashed by the “Sludge God.” I thought it looked and sounded awesome.

A few days ago an animated trailer for it, featuring Carpenter and the band Gunship dropped. I’m even more excited about the game now.

The game drops March 12th and I’m sure I’ll be picking it up.

Evil Has Always Had A Name

The newest Resident Evil game, Resident Evil: Requiem, comes out at the end of the month. The game features a new protagonist and also is supposed to be the send off for series favorite, Leon S. Kennedy. A live action short dropped for the game yesterday.

This (very) short film tells a story about a mother trying to keep her daughter alive during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Despite the brevity, it packs quite an emotional punch. Even if you don't play the games, check it out.

Music Monday - Mimicry

I don't know much about Five Nights At Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic, but I know this song that JT Music made based on it is an absolute banger!

The Trickster

I've mentioned my obsession with Dead By Daylight a few times recently. This is the first of the games killers I've statted out for SURVIVE THIS!!. While he works for any game, I think he's most appropriate in a Vigilante City or What Shadows Hide game.

Ji-Woon Hak always loved attention. He would put on knife throwing performances to get attention for his families restaurant. His father then took profits to get Ji-Woon dancing and singing lessons. Eventually Ji-Woon was recruited into the K-Pop  band, NO SPIN. He loved the attention but it wasn't enough. He wanted the spotlight to be solely on him. When a fire broke out at a NO SPIN recording session he found his opportunity to make that happen. He locked his bandmates in the booth.

Working his producer, Yun-Jin, he rebranded himself as the solo artist, the Trickster. After enjoying solo fame, he soon found things stale. This is when Ji-Woon secretly started using his knife skills and fame to become a world traveling serial killer. He incorporated his victims screams into his music. The Yun-Jin began to suspect him of the killings, she said nothing.

Trickster's last earthly performance was gloriously horrific. In front of Yun-Jin he tortured and made the most beautiful music using the cries of agony from label's executives. When the performance ended as he went to kill his manager, he was taken by the Fog into the Entity's realm.

Ji-Woon Hak, The Trickster (Humanoid)
Armor Class: 16
Hit Dice: 10 (66 HP)
Move: 12
Actions: 1
Attack Damage: Polished head-smasher (1d8), thrown knives (1d4-1)
Special: Main Event
Bonuses: +5 to melee attacks, +8 to ranged attacks, +3 to Initiative, +3 to Stealth checks, +8 to Performance checks,  +8 to Dancing checks
Alignment: Evil
Morale: 9
Madness: 9 (10)
Terror: 15
HDE: 6

Main Event: If Trickster rolls a 19-20 on a ranged attack with his thrown knives he can immediately make another thrown knife attack. This repeats until Trickster misses an attack or runs out of knives. After Main Event ends, Trickster is temporarily exhausted and cannot act his next turn.

Music Monday - Hat Trick

I just can't get enough JT Music, especially the duo's Five Nights At Freddy's content. Check out their other song based on Springtrap from Five Nights At Freddy's 3 (and now Dead by Daylight).

Once again, if you'd like to add some haunted Fazbear electronics to your games, check out the posts below.

Autumn Ivy is The Huntress

My favorite muscle mommy cosplaying my favorite female killer from Dead By Daylight. I call that a win! Check out Autumn Ivy as the Huntress.

Here are some of Ivy's other cosplays I've shared:
