Music Monday - Crash
I loved Wayne Static and Static-X when I was in high school and college. Sadly Wayne passed away a decade or so ago. This past week we got a new music release and music video featuring the man (and no it's not AI). I remember the song Crash from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. A Batman themed music video was shot, but never released, until now. Some bits of the music have been recorded/changed and the video has been given a 4K remaster.

Pathetic
Here’s another anti-I.C.E. piece I found. This time we get DCAU Batman expressing his thoughts. The piece was created by Jordan Gibson.

The Real Reason Batman Has Never Killed The Joker…
I've shared content from The Panda Redd before. He has some insightful posts about (primarily Batman) comics. He also does some really funny skits. I really like this Under The Red Hood inspired one.

Plants Do All This Shit For Her Lazy Ass
Voiced by BJ Smoove, Frank the Plant is a supporting character in Max's Harley Quinn series (and an episode of it's spinoff Kite Man, Hell Yeah!). He was created by Poison Ivy and is a pretty good businessman. If you want to add an intelligent Venus fly-trap to your game, here you go.

Z is for Zebra-Man
Their have been at least four characters to use the name Zebra-Man. The original has an ability called Diamagnetism, which allows him to repel and attract anything but metal. The original was a Batman villain. While fighting Zebra-Man, Batman was bombarded with the same radiation that gave the villain his power. Later the villainous corporation Kobra creates their own Zebra-Man to gain control of Stagg Enterprises. This one also used Diamagnetism. The New 52 introduced another version who ends up taking the moniker Vortex. This version also had super strength.
I'm going to talk about the latest Zebra-Man, though to be honest there isn't much to say. At one point he was a member of Cheetah's animal-themed team of villains, the Menagerie (which also included Weasel). After that he joined the anti-Task Force X group, the Revolutionaries. This group was seen as terrorists by some and revolutionaries by others. He was later brought in as a member of the Suicide Squad, where he served as the body guard to Amanda Waller's replacement Lok. He was an odd character, but kind of interesting.

Music Monday - Gangsta
Ayer's Suicide Squad soundtrack included the song Gangsta by Kehlani.
While I like the original version (despite hating the Harley/Joker pairing), I'm a big fan of New Years Day's cover and video of the track. I have a major crush on Ash Costello and thought she looked like New 52 Harley Quinn even before watching this video. I also dig the rest of the band dressed as other Batman rogues.

O is for Oracle
This might sound controversial, but I really don't like Alan Moore's The Killing Joke. There are several reasons, but the main is because of the treatment of Barbara Gordon. It was fridging, before the coin was termed. Because there was no editorial edict or plans to use Batgirl again, Ostrander and his team decided to give the character second life. They didn't want to magically cure her paralysis, but still knew Babs was a great character and deserved new stories. In their Suicide Squad, Firestorm, and Manhunter stories a hacker named Oracle was introduced. Initially the readers didn't know Oracle was Barbara Gordon. The hacker helped Waller and when Flo, the main computer person for Task Force X, is killed, Waller informed Oracle. Waller saved Babs from an assassination attempt and was recruited to the team. When Waller was shot, Barbara even led Task Force X for a time.
Babs is a great character and I'm glad the folks writing Suicide Squad decided to give her new life. We wouldn't have the fantastic Birds of Prey if it not for the Squad.
I'm going to do something a little different today. While there are options like The Combat Wheelchair, I don't think I could do Oracle justice with the stats I would design. Instead I'm going to give a few alternate rewards like the ones presented in the Dungeon Master's Guide. These work like supernatural gifts or class abilities. Players can gain them if they gain Oracle's trust and respect.

H is for Harley Quinn
Appearing in Batman: The Animated Series before the comics, Harley Quinn is a divisive character. I can understand why. She's been used in so many franchises and that can great on people's nerves. Some people still ship her with Joker, which is gross (which makes me even more anxious about the upcoming film with Lady Gaga). She can be obnoxious and goofy and that's not to everyone's liking. All that being said I'm a fan of Harley. Arleen Sorkin's original Harley and and Kaley Cuoco's voice work for the character are fantastic. Margot Robbie is also spectacular as the character (the Birds of Prey portrayal being my favorite).
Harley has been a core member of the Suicide Squad since the start of the New 52 run (which is when I started reading the series). During this time she's grown a lot as a character and learned to see the Squad as her family. She's also had a few romantic interests, notable Deadshot and Rick Flag. She was also a prominent part of both Ayer's Suicide Squad and Gunn's The Suicide Squad.
While some versions of Harley have no powers, in the pre-New 52 continuity she has several abilities and enhancements due to a serum injected in her by Poison Ivy. She has enhanced strength, agility, durability, and reflexes. Additionally she is immune to toxins and can breath underwater. I'm not sure if she still has these currently, but my stats are based on that version.
Also just because of her connection to Joker, I thought I'd share the link to my 5e Joker stats.
