Baldur’s Gate Gazetteer

Cashing in on the popularity of Baldur's Gate 3 (which I'm still itching to play), WotC has released the Baldur's Gate Gazetteer for free on D&D Beyond. This isn't entirely new content, as it was included in Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus, however if you don't have that book it's free setting information. You can claim the content on D&D Beyond by going here. You can also claim digital dice for the platform and download 1st level characters sheets for Baldur's Gate 3's companions here.

Dooooooooooooom! is the topic of the day. I know I used this for another post today, but I really want to post the Crazy Ralph "You're Doomed" gif again. Instead, I'm going to take this as an oppurtunity to share some 5e content I posted a few years ago. There are multiple skins for Doom Slayer in Doom Eternal. One of the more wicked looking ones is the Zombie Doom Slayer. If you want to add the Zombie Doom Slayer to your Descent Into Avernus games, here's your chance.

Baldur's Gate III Opening Cinematic

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn are two of my favorite games of all time. I'd say if you add up all my time playing them it would be months. Needless to say when I found out they were releasing a third, I was excited. After watching the opening cinematic, excited isn't a strong enough word! Watch this and prepare to geek out!

Zombie Doom Slayer

I recently finished 2016's Doom. It was an absolutely fantastic FPS. The story is cool. The graphics and demon designs are phenomenal. Heavy metal guitar rifts propel combat to an awesome level. The sequel, Doom Eternal, comes out next March and it's going to be badass. There are some new Doom Slayer skins for that game, including the Zombie Doom Slayer. I decided to take this particular skin and stat the undead Doom Slayer out for 5e. He'd make a great ally or even foe for a Baldur's Game: Descent Into Avernus game.

Satanic Panic (5E Spell)

This new spell was inspired by this comic panel.

Satanic Panic

1st level (paladin) or 2nd level (bard, cleric) conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Self (30' cone)

Component: V,S

Duration: 1 Minute (Concentration)

You project a 30' cone of pure holy celestial power. Each fiend in a 30-foot cone must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or drop whatever it is holding and become frightened for the duration.

While frightened by this spell, a fiend must Dash action and move away from you by the safest available route on each of its turns, unless there is nowhere to move. If the fiend ends its turn in a location where it doesn't have line of sight to you, the fiend can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell ends for that fiend.

Minsc the Mighty

I love Minsc. He's was my favorite party member in the Baldur's Gate games and is my favorite D&D hero. Looking for things on the web today, I found these two images from WotC. The first is a sample from D&D Young Adventurer's Guide: Warriors & Weapons. The second is from Dragon Plus.

The images have been hyperlinked, so click them for larger versions. I made a double sided print and now I have a really cool guest character added to my D&D binder.

A Quick Primer to Yugoloths

While going through some older issues of Dragon+, I came across a few comics that could really be handy for anyone who's going to run Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus.  In issue issue 22, Jason Thompson presents a couple of comic pages with descriptions of the fiendish mercenaries. There's a pdf download link that contains the two panels below and a collection of really cool Yugoloth magic items for 5e.
