He Brings Home Six Figures A Month

For the past few years I've been collecting the 1/12 scale D&D figures that Hasbro has been releasing. I ordered the Drizzt and Guenwyvar from Hasbro directly, but all of the others have been picked up at different Ollie's Bargain Outlets. I have about half of the line and once I start working again will start grabbing the rest of the figures.

A Recent Quest

Haven't posted much recently because I don't have a challenge/project to keep me on schedule and been dealing with mental health things. I'll be back to posting regularly soon, I'm sure. I don't have any new content, but I would like to show off the really cool loot from an adventure I took yesterday. 

I found a Themberchuad popcorn bucket and cloth Forgotten Realms map on Facebook Marketplace and decided to take a drive. I was able to snag both at a ridiculously cheap price. The dragon head is going to go on my bookshelf.

This cloth map is really cool. After rewatching Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves today and (minus the D&D branding) it the same map that appears on screen at the beginning of the film,.

My D&D Movies

A lot of folks, myself included, loved Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. This got me thinking about other D&D movies. I'm not specifically talking about official D&D movies, but the movies that I've associated with D&D and that get me in the mood, so to speak.  There are two that immediately come to mind (both of which came out when I was in high school).

The 13th Warrior may have been a commercial and critical flop, but it's still one of my all time favorite movies. There was a good two or three year period that I would put this one in every night before bed. There are issues with it, for sure, but I love it. The ensemble cast is great and this is peak smoldering Banderas. Vladimir Kulich's Buliwyf has always stuck with me and influenced my choice to nearly always support the Nords in Skyrim (because he voices Ulfric Stormcloak). Also love Tony Curran and Dennis Storhøi in their supporting rolls. The action is great and the film is well shot. I also dig the humor. This movie is a favorite of most of my high school and college gaming friends. 

The Scorpion King is my Conan movie. It's my favorite swords and sorcery flick and holds the same spot in my heart that 1982's Conan the Barbarian has to other gamers. I've always loved the Rock (with the exception of his OG Rocky Miavia days) and this movie is just cool. It has a great supporting cast, over the top action scenes, and a cool factor that can't be denied. 

I think I might have to make some gaming content based on these two flicks soon. So what are your D&D movies? 

Oh Lawd He Comin

Like many folks that watched Honor Among Thieves, I fell in love with Themberchaud, or as I like to call him the heckin' chonk dragon. Themberchaud appeared Out of the Abyss, but the stats given are just reprinted adult red dragon stats. For anyone that wants a more accurate stat block for the chubby dragon should check out Lee Unangst's Sedentary Adult Red Dragon stats here.

Rage Against The High Sun Games

I thought this was cool and wanted to share. Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello played his character, Kimathi Stormhollow, in the D&D movie. He's unrecognizable. I honestly wouldn't have known this was him if I hadn't read about it in an article.

Honor Among Thieves Magic Items (Spoilers)

Going to start by saying I watched D&D: Honor Among Thieves and thought it was fantastic. I won't go on too much, but I'll just say I was entertained and would pay to see it again in theaters. 

D&D Beyond has released more 5e movie content. In addition to the characters stats, they've released Legendary Magic Items, featuring items from the film. These are the items:

• Helm of Disjunction - a sleek golden helm created by Mordenkainen that can disrupt magic
• Hither-Thither Staff - a Portal Gun for 5e
• Horn of Beckoning Death - a plot device item that can be used to create and army of zombies for the Red Wizards of Thay
• Red Wizard Blade - tied to the Negative Plane, these blades do extra necrotic damage and those killed by it are unable to be raised except by the most powerful magic
• Tablet of Reawakening - essentially an upgraded Scroll of Resurrection, it allows true resurrection

Is There Honor Among Thieves?

For (what I presume is a limited time) you can claim statblocks for the heroes and villains of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on D&D Beyond. 

You get seven stat blocks (the six characters pictured above and a 7th villainous Red Wizard of Thay). I know D&D Beyond and 5e has taken a major hit because of the OGL stuff, but I still thought this was cool.
